Marina is getting tired of writing in
her diary.

Lisa was crying and Marina felt so bad
because she couldn’t do anything to help her.

Marina gets back from Easter break.

Marina saw Dr Harvey at the hospital.

Marina saw a lot of familiar faces in
the hospital.

She thinks its
funny how she has been with these people for so long but still not know anything
about them.

Marina thought that Easter with her
Grandmother was dull.

Her mother sent her another postcard,
but Marina refused to read it.
April 1:

It was April Fools’ Day and it scared
Marina as she thought people were going to prank her.
April 2:

Today Marina watched a movie called
“raiders of the lost ark” and she was the only one who hadn’t seen it before.
She ran out of the Hall and to the garden and hoped no one would see. But Cathy
came after her and put her arm around her.
April 3:

Cathy wrote a letter to Marina about
last night.

She had to go to Mrs Ransome (the
school councilor again today).

Her mother came back from New York.

Marina would prefer them to be in the
U.S.A.

Things are not good for Marina at the
moment.

Nothing happens today. Marina is rambling.

Marina is rambling. Things are still
not good.

Marina wonders if she can talk in her
sleep.

Marina has had a bad dream.

She has been in sickbay for the last
few days but has now returned to her dorm.
April 15:

Marina hears the teachers talk about
the students in sickbay.

Cathy brought Marina’s journal to sick
bay and she hopes that Cathy hasn’t read anything.
April 17:

Marina went to classes today and did
some work in art that she liked. She heard a grade seven make a comment about
her face. She is really worrying about her father at the moment, and she isn’t
sure if she wants to hear from him or not.
April 18:

Lisa reorganized the dorm today and
Cathy got a call that made her cry. Mrs Ransome told Marina that she should
learn a musical instrument, but she doesn’t know that Marina used to play the
flute. She wonders what the others write about in their journals.
April 19:
o
Marina hates science because every
time someone mentions the word acid a few people look at her and there is a
kind of tension in the room.
April 20:
o
Last night the conversations in the
dorm went on until after midnight, and Marina is so tired. Everyone was talking
about boys that they like, which is always a common topic.
